Cooperation Between Two of The Worlds Most Distinguished Brands Results In a Luxurious Vespa
The successful collaboration between the French fashion powerhouse and the iconic Italian scooter builder resulted in an haute couture Vespa, elegantly comfortable in picturesque roadways or runways.
The Italian Vespa and Parisian Christian Dior “houses” were founded in 1946 and are linked by an unfaltering success in their respective fields. According to both partners, the collaboration highlights the spirit of freedom, movement, and expression that shaped these two powerhouses – “Odyssey(s), style, dreams and Dolce Vita.”
Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director of the house, revisited the 946 Vespa, adding gold accents and trim with the Dior Oblique logo in blue to the scooters monohull architecture.
Churi also designed a custom helmet and a top case in the shape of a suitcase to be fixed on the luggage rack. The case was built using metal details and respecting traditional artisanal methods in Dior’s leatherwork ateliers to attain a vintage appearance.
Why We Like The Christian Dior Vespa
The attention to detail. Everything on the 946 expresses Mediterranean luxury, from the saddle to the helmet and the top case. The “Dioriviera” was created to be exhibited in the most trendy parts of your resort town or smoothly navigating through the swirly roads of Tuscany and along the French Riviera coast.
The limited-edition Christian Dior Vespa was launch in spring 2021 in Dior boutiques around the world and subsequently in a selection of Piaggio Group’s Motoplex stores. Accessories, including the helmet and top case, will be available exclusively in Dior boutiques.
