Vespa – the best way to see Barcelona!

Vespa – the best way to see Barcelona!

Vespa scooters are a fun stylish way to see the sights!  Always very reliable and easy to operate, they are so convenient for getting around in many cities.  Barcelona in Spain is a very good example.

Vespa scooters, which is an Italian word for wasp, are built by an Italian company Piaggio.   Indeed, this snappy and comfortable legandary little scooter was built in Europe to zip around the narrow, winding streets of the most famous European cities, such as Italy’s Rome and Spain’s Barcelona.

Indeed, a slogan of these colorful and safe little unibody scooters could be, Vespa, “Not just a scooter, a way of life.”

Barcelona, which is world famous for its art and architecture, is the very cosmopolitan capital of the Catalonia district of Spain, but don’t let that term scare you.  This city of 1.6 million people features such attractions as Picasso House , featuring the famous artist’s work, while in every direction around it are a dizzying choice of modern to ancient buildings, and even some ancient Roman archaeological sights.

Barcelona is the second European city with the largest number of motorcycles.

Whether you are visiting the Gothic Quarter in the center of the old city of Barcelona with its narrow labyrinth of cobbled streets, stunning old churches and hidden squares, or riding along the nearby Mediterranean waterfront, a Vespa scooter is the way to go.  Stop almost anyway, jump off for a few photos, and hop back on to keep exploring in seconds.

Parking is no problem for a Vespa scooter.  They will fit almost anywhere, and are easy to secure with a lock and chain.  Some of the most interesting places in Barcelona only allow taxis and service vehicles, but one of these scooters will let you get closer that any other motorized transportation with ease.

Barcelona is a must see city.  If you haven’t been there, make sure it’s on your bucket list!  Plan to rent a Vespa scooter when you get there.  You will be amazed at how quickly and easily you become an expert at getting around to see all the sights, and you will be very happy you chose the scooter over an automobile!  I hope to see you there!

Renting a Vespa in Barcelona is relativley inexpensive.  Via Vespa rents Vespa scooters in Barcelona and offer guided tours.  You can also contact the Barcelona tourist office for more information.
