On June 30th, the Vespa Club of Milan set off the two day International Team Female Vespa Riders Audax , sixth edition.
The event is the resurrection of the ‘Audax Internazionale Femminile’ which had been held by the Milanese association back in 1952 and continued until 1957 with a break in 1956.
The Audax stood out as one of the early most important moments in the history of Vespa. It was first held on June 01, 1952, when one-hundred female riders started off from Milan and competed right as far as the shores of lake Como and then back to Milan the following day.
The events highlighted the universality values of freedom, friendship and independence.
The Results:
The victory went to the Milan A team with Emanuela Selva, Donatella Fanti and Alessandra Cambria, second place for Milan B composed of Ilenia Palermo, Maddalena Floridia and Ersilia Solimene, third place for the Rho team formed by Floriana Elli, Lorella Borghetti and Francesca Arrigone. In fourth place was the team of Canale Monterano with Orietta Palazzetti, Paola Spagnoli and Patrizia Bonamoneta, while in fifth place the team of Rovereto composed of Isabella Merlo, Cecilia Tranquillini and Nicole Danzo.
