Stefan Rohrer distorts Vespa art into playful spiraling autonomous objects
Stefan Rohrer Vespa scooter art was originally conceived as part of the Heidenheimer Sculpture Symposium 2013.
We might argue that the beauty of the Vespa can be found on the city streets. German born artist Stefan Rohrer has his own interpretation for the beauty of the Vespa.
Born 1968 in Göppingen, now living and working in Stuttgart, Stefan Rohrers creates striking sculptures out of old cars, motorbikes or scooters. He transforms them into autonomous objects,.. “which seem to embody a compressed
sequence of movement, materialized as if in a time lapse, whose story they tell”, Blickachsen 11.
Rohrer’s has devoted an important part of his work to an icon of our consumer society, the Vespa scooter. His work has been displayed in museums and street art.
